Copyright Policy

Last updated: September 2026

HVS respects intellectual property rights and is committed to protecting copyright holders. This policy explains our approach to copyright and the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) notice-and-takedown process.

1. Authorized Audio Only

HVS enforces a strict authorized-audio policy:

  • Users may upload only original voice recordings or audio they own or are licensed to use
  • External audio extraction, recording, or mixing of copyrighted material is prohibited
  • Live beats and music must come from the in-app Authorized Track library with proper licensing
  • All live usage of licensed tracks is logged with attribution (title, producer, participants)
  • Recording, replay, and clip creation are disabled unless explicitly permitted by the track license

2. External Music Links

External music links (YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, etc.) may be used only as authorized links or official previews via official APIs and embeds. They must never be used for extracting, downloading, or mixing copyrighted audio. All external embeds respect platform attribution and terms of service.

3. DMCA Notice-and-Takedown

If you believe content on HVS infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice. Your notice must include:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
  • Identification of the material on HVS that you claim is infringing (include URL)
  • Your contact information (name, address, email, phone)
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act
  • Your physical or electronic signature

Submit DMCA notices through the in-app Copyright Report feature or to our designated DMCA agent.

4. Counter-Notice

If your content was removed due to a DMCA notice and you believe it was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice. The counter-notice must include:

  • Identification of the removed material and its location before removal
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the material was removed in error
  • Your contact information and consent to local jurisdiction
  • Your physical or electronic signature

Upon receiving a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material after 10–14 business days unless the original complainant files a court action.

5. Repeat Infringer Policy

Users who repeatedly post infringing content will have their accounts terminated in accordance with the DMCA's repeat infringer requirements.

6. Revenue and Licensing

Revenue from monetized events using licensed tracks is distributed according to pre-approved revenue-sharing agreements. All participants must consent before monetized events. The Track Revenue Ledger maintains transparent records of all revenue distribution.

7. Track Licensing Tiers

Authorized tracks are offered under license tiers including free demo, battle-only, monetized live, live with replay, and commercial non-exclusive. Each tier specifies permitted uses, territories, recording rights, and revenue share terms.
