Age & Identity Verification Notice (18+)
Why we check
Private voice rooms and People Booking are only for verified adults (18+). Everyone in a private room, and both the booker and the talent in a booking, must be verified individually. Age verified confirms age only. It is not a background check, a safety or trustworthiness guarantee, or approval of anyone's behaviour.
What we collect and who processes it
- Date of birth (you enter it once at signup). Purpose: decide which features you can see, and compare with the age check. Access: you and the automated system; restricted staff only for a Support correction (logged). It is never shown to other users.
- The age check is done by our processor Stripe Identity (when enabled): a photo of an ID document and a selfie, compared with each other. Stripe processes this as our processor/service provider; it may process data outside your country (e.g. in the USA) under its safeguards such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
- What HVS keeps: the result (pass / under-age / mismatch / uncertain / failed), the method, the date, the provider, the provider's session reference (internal only), whether it was test or live, and your agreement acceptances (version + time + salted IP hash).
- What HVS never keeps (database, storage, logs, analytics or Support tools): ID images, selfies, face/biometric data, document numbers, the date of birth read from your ID, or the provider's full response. The webhook computes "18+?" and "matches your declared date of birth?" in memory and discards the rest.
Consent and alternatives
- Accepting the Terms is separate from consenting to the biometric check. Neither box is pre-ticked.
- If you can't or don't want to do a selfie check, ask Support for the alternative procedure (e.g. document check reviewed by an accredited provider without facial matching, where the provider supports it). It still requires proof that you are 18+.
- Facial age estimation (if ever added) is probabilistic: it passes only above a safety buffer (default estimate ≥ 25); otherwise you are sent to a document check. It is not identity verification.

Provider-held data follows Stripe's retention policy; we can request deletion on your behalf.
Your rights
Access, correction, deletion, withdrawing consent (stops use of your result immediately), objection and appeal, from Verify age → Your verification data or Support. Withdrawal does not affect checks done before. You may also complain to your data-protection authority (e.g. IDP in Albania).
Rules that protect the check
- A declared date of birth never counts as verified. Age is computed from the full date (day, month, year).
- Correcting your date of birth goes through Support. Any change immediately pauses private rooms and booking and needs a new check. Staff cannot mark someone 18+ by editing a field.
- If the date on your ID doesn't match the one you declared, private rooms and booking stay blocked until Support resolves it.
- Test-mode results never count in live mode.
- Before sending anyone to the provider we check the provider supports their country (configuration).
